Pakistan planning to try and win the cricket test – here is the strategy of Inzy
Pakistan declared their second innings at 261 for two on the fourth day of the third and final cricket Test against India at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here today.
India need 383 to win the match.
Brief scores: Pakistan: 570 and 261 for two in 50 overs (S Afridi 58, Y Hameed 76, Younis Khan 84 not out, Inzamam-ul Haq 31 not out) India: 449 all out in 128.4 overs (V Sehwag 201, Tendulkar 41, Laxman 79 not out; Kaneria 5-127, M Sami 3-106).
Pakistan was looking for a 400 run lead by the end of first hour in the fifth and final day. Obviously the key will be what Yasir Hameed and Shahid Afridi can do and how fast they can do. Pakistani batting line up will also try to push for the target of 400 as soon as possible.
At that stage the ball will be in India’s court to defend the second innings and look for an indecisive draw. Inzy will hope that Pakistani bowlers will try to crack Indian batting line up in the final hours.
The match in the final day can turn out to as thrilling as a One Day International.
VVS Laxman struck an unbeaten 79 as India were bowled out for 449, conceding a 121-run first innings lead to Pakistan, soon after lunch on the fourth day of the final Test on Sunday.
It was Kaneria's 10th five-wicket haul in his 26th match.
