Obama reminds me of AT&T Ma Bell in 1988 – as the house of cards were falling apart, AT&T managers were spending time in meetings and retreats
Obama reminds me of old time AT&T Directors calling meetings and retreats while the house of cards were falling apart and the world’s largest company was becoming broke through countless wrong decisions. Obama’s open to public meetings on Healthcare and Financial Cost Cutting efforts shows how inexperience and naive this US President is. This was the exact approach of AT&T Managers in 1986-90. They were all talk, meetings, retreats, good food, dinners, lunches, and at the end company went broke without being able to recognize the major threats from MCI and Sprint.
Obama never worked for a corporation. So far he acted as the newly promoted rookie manager eager to compromise, be nice, and allow all to talk and get nothing done in reality.
President Obama is a good man. But his naivety, inexperience as a manager is showing adverse effects on his deliverables. The Right wing neo con Americans who really caused the entire financial calamity to the nation through their relentless blind support of Bush and his totally ridiculous policies, are now eager to see Obama fail. Obama’s main problem is that his learning curve is very big. He can surprise all by learning fast but that is not easy.
Obama now plans to hire Czars who will be Whitehouse Managers for every Agency. These newly appointed positions are ridiculous. It is like the State Bank of India. You try to get something done in Indian Government owned banks. There are so many people that nothing gets done. Too many people are the source of in fight, chaos, and total incompetence.
During 1986-90, AT&T Managers acted like real morons sinking a corporate Titanic in no time. During 2008-12, we hope Obama does not act like the same to sink the "Titanic America" below the water in to a world of depression and financial meltdown.
