If Obama were a man of honor, he would not have lived in Whitehouse built by slaves
A man’s honor lies with his self-respect and denial of injustice. Sometimes it has to be symbolic to convey the truth.
Barack Obama and his family would make history Tuesday as the first black first family to move into the White House, a mansion largely built by slaves, who also helped shape, the national capital.
It is sad to see the first black President of America becoming a virtual slave himself. The same people who served Bushs and Clintons surround him. In the name of serving the middle of America, Obama has decided to pursue the same ideology of Bush that he promised would ‘change.’
A workforce that was made up largely of slaves from houses and farms in Virginia, Maryland and the capital too built the US Capitol, the home of nation’s parliament, on whose steps Obama will be sworn-in as the leader of the world’s oldest democracy.
It was a slave named Philip Reid who figured out how to bronze the Made in Rome plaster cast of the 19-foot-6-inch (5.85 metre) Statue of Freedom in pieces and then put it together so it could be hoisted on top of the Capitol dome.
Some would argue, Obama finally conquered the establishment that used slavery. But Obama has nothing to do with slavery. His mother is white, as a matter of fact, a distant relative of Dick Cheney. His father was an immigrant from Kenya. Neither his father nor mother ever inherited slavery in their blood. The agony of slavery lies with millions of American black families, not Obama.
That may very well be the reason why Obama so easily betrayed the common people of America within two months of his getting elected as the first black President.
