Prime Minister Manmohan Singh critical of Modi for what happened in Gujarat and of US Administration for denying visa to Modi – what about the NRI group in US?
Manmohan Singh clarified his position on the visa denial issue of Narendra Modi. He said he does not support what happened in Gujarat and Modi’s action in the matter. He also does not appreciate US refusing visa to an elected “Chief Minister” of an Indian State. Prime Minister’s office said that his criticism of US does not mean in any way support for Modi and his actions.
One thing that is still in the talks of the main streets of India is the fact that why the NRI expatriate Hoteliers invited Modi without first consulting with the US State Department. This is especially true when people leading that group are in close touch with Bush Administration. The whole ugly issue could have been avoided if the group would not have invited Modi in the first place. PM’s office decided not to comment on the group’s action.
