Tata Motors pulls out from Singur - talk in the weekend just to provide some consolation to the communists – who to blame?
Right from the beginning, the Bengal communist played wrong games. They did not pose the right scenario to the Tatas. They wanted the nano deal at any cost so that they can use the tax revenue from the Tatas. It fell apart badly in their face.
Tata Motors has decided to pull out from Singur. The talks in the weekend are just to provide some consolation to the communists.
According to media reports, Amidst growing uncertainty over the Tata Motors'' Nano project taking off at Singur, a meeting between West Bengal government and the company's officials will be held in Kolkata on Sunday.
"The meeting between the state government and the Tata Motors officials will be held on September 28," Chief Secretary Amit Kiran Deb told reporters at the state secretariat. He, however, declined to say who would represent the state government and the Tata Motors in the meeting.
The meeting will take place amidst speculation that Tata Motors is preparing to pull out from Singur due to continued agitation by Trinamool Congress-led opposition demanding return of 400 acres of land to "unwilling" farmers.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has demanded shifting of the vendors park of the Tata Motors from its present site to the opposite side of the Durgapur expresway.
The state government and the Tatas have said since the car factory and ancillary units make up an integrated project, the two sites cannot be separated.
