Zardari’s corruption skeleton in closet – the clandestine deal with Musharraf and the West
The skeleton in his closet is loaded. The Swiss bank accounts of Bhutto and Zardari are intact. The corruption charges are withdrawn. The new President of Pakistan, a former alleged convict of corruption is leading the charge. Musharraf has a safe exit brokered by the US and other Western countries. Zardari gets to keep his billions in Swiss bank accounts. Pakistan is still a slave of the NATO although inner core of Pakistan is ready to fight the Indians, Israelis and of course the Americans.
Zardari now taking the lead in complying on the surface what Americans say and request. The shadow ISI and the pro-Taliban faction of Pakistani Military is still secretly aiding the terrorists. The face changes from Musharrf to Zardari – the core infrastructure remains the same.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice welcomed Zardari's election and praised what she said was his emphasis on fighting terrorism. "Now with a new president, I think we have got a good way forward," she told reporters.
A former businessman, Zardari is close to the United States and has stressed Pakistan's commitment to the widely unpopular campaign against militancy.
Members of the two-chamber parliament and four provincial assemblies voted on a replacement for former army chief Pervez Musharraf, who resigned last month nine years after taking power in a coup.
Zardari, who had been widely expected to win, secured 480 out of 702 Electoral College votes, according to unofficial Election Commission results.
