According to recent media release, India is going ahead with deepwater oil project underway with subsea wells and long pipelines to be installed over the next two years

Oil and Natural Gas Corp is planning to develop the G1 oil field in the Krishna Godavari basin off India's east coast with subsea wells tied back to a processing facility at Odalrevu.

It also intends to link the shallow water gas field GS15 and upgrade the processing centre in time to have both fields on-stream in 2006

The two fields are together expected to produce around 9,400 barrels of oil and 100m cu ft of gas a day at peak and to be operating until 2015.

Perth-based Clough Offshore is responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the platform and subsea systems and for upgrading the processing facility.
