Country stands united on Visa issue - Denial of visa to Modi inappropriate and a challenge to constitutional authority of India: PM Manmohan Singh
Sonia Chopra
Mar. 20, 2005

The country is united on the visa issue. It is a challenge to constitutional authority of India. Those who never liked Modi and his policies especially after the Gujrat violence have also sided for him to show the sense of solidarity.

Describing denial of US visa to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as "inappropriate", Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Saturday said the US has questioned the constitutional authority of India by making a subjective judgment.

The UPA alliance, the left and of course the NDA all came out criticizing Bush Administration for the inappropriate decision.
