Time to sell your Jaguar and Land Rover – India’s $2000 car maker Tata will take over the luxury name brands next week

Luxury cars are prestige symbols. They have intrinsic values. If cheap carmakers like Indian and Chinese car companies take over established name brands, what can auto dealers and high-end car owners do?

Even if you try to sell your Land Rover, Range Rover and Jaguar now, you will get far less price than before. The name brands tainted with cheapness Indian carmaker Tata. The company that makes $2000 car in India has taken over these name brands from Ford.

Ford made a shrewd move. Tata – one of the largest oligarch in India is eager for a long time to get at par status to western billionaire groups. Land Rover and Jaguar were losing enterprise for a long time. They were surviving because some wealthy folks in US liked the cars. Now Tata faces uphill task to support these companies. They will succeed in making these cars India’s choice of the rich. But these car brands are dead in US and European markets.
