Castro afraid of Obama policy - for the first time there are signs of lberty, hope and genuine prosperity in cuba
Deolinda Francisco
May 26, 2008

Obama’s astute foreign policy has started working already. What the right wing American neo cons could not do for decades, Obama did it in a few months. Former President Fidel Castro says Sen. Barack Obama's plan to maintain Washington's trade embargo against Cuba will cause hunger and suffering on the island.

America cannot invade Cuba because of a secret agreement between former US President John F. Kennedy and Russian supreme Khrushchev. Since that time US has tried all different means to keep out of the main stream of the human civilization. It was a mistake. It just allowed Castro family to dominate and rein the Cuba for more than fifty years.

Castros now face a much serious and dangerous American would be president – Senator Obama. He is no right wing neo con that lack diplomacy and common sense. Obama will not lift the sanctions. He will engage Cuba into talks. It will help the common people of Cuba to rise up and take their control of their own country.

No wonder Fidel Castro is afraid for the first time. US cannot invade Cuba but common people of Cuba can march to the tunes of Obama and take control of their own country. Imagine what happens to the world if Cuba is free with open markets.

"Obama's speech can be translated as a formula for hunger for the country," Castro wrote, referring to Obama's remarks last week to the influential Cuban American National Foundation in Miami.

Obama said he would maintain the nearly fifty-year-old trade sanctions against Cuba as leverage to push for democratic change on the island. But he also vowed to ease restrictions on Cuban Americans traveling to Cuba and sending money to relatives.

That is exactly what Castros are afraid of. They are least worried of American Military because of secret deal between US and Soviet union in sixties. But that will not save them from their own common people. Cubans are ready to embrace Obama and discard the Castros. They love prosperity and freedom.

Obama will soon say “breakdown that wall of secrecy and restriction Mr.Castros – let the people of cuba sing the tunes of freedom and glory.’

Does that remind you of former US President Ronal Reagan challenging Gorbachev? Soon Obama will challenge the dictators and oppressors in the world including Castros in Cuba.
