Unknowingly American invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan made a dream come true – Pakistan now says no more war with India over Kashmir
It took Pakistan more than sixty years to understand that India is its biggest friend. The South Asian solidarity zoomed as both India and Pakistan realized after American invasion of Iraq that the world is complex and in the middle of that there is little room to fight among members of the same family.
The American war against the Islamic Jihadists in Iraq and Afghanistan have made Pakistan finally realize that it made a blunder for seventy years in getting instigated by China and America to wage war against India.
Both China and American right wing neo cons equipped Pakistan with advanced war arsenals to keep India checked. In the last fifteen years after the end of the cold war, America understood the problem of Al-Queda. The jihadists will not stop at anything.
After the 9/11 terror attack America moved decisively against the Islamic terrorists that India was complaining and Pakistan was sponsoring. The invasion of Iraq on false premise of weapons of mass destruction was an eye opener for both India and Pakistan.
The South Asian rivals realized how a sovereign nation could be swallowed by a super power while the rest of the world watched the episode in fear of the bully. America’s biggest mistake was to side with Pakistan for decades and doing nothing stop killing of innocent Indians by Pakistan sponsored terror apparatus. It finally turned around and hit America. That is the time America went after Al-Queda and other Pakistan sponsored terrorists.
Iraq war is the biggest blunder by any super power ever. The effect of that war will echo for the next two hundred years no matter how fast Obama can withdraw and neutralize American right wing neo con fascist policies.
The good news out of all this that Pakistan finally understood India is not its enemy. India never wants to do to Pakistan what Americans did to Iraq.
Pakistan does not want another war with India over Kashmir, Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar has said while describing the current status of bilateral relations as the "best" the two countries ever had.
"We are having a very nice relationship with India, the best of the relationship we have ever had. The confidence-building measures are working very well and I think the defense of Pakistan today is much safer than five years (ago)," Mukhtar, senior leader of the Pakistan People's Party that heads the ruling coalition and one of Pakistan's leading industrialists, said.
