North Korea to confess secret uranium-enrichment program for Syria - a pretext for next US military adventure into Syria and Iran? A help of John McCain?
Kartik Punaskar
Apr. 25, 2008

Bush administration has reached a tentative deal in which Pyongyang would “acknowledge” US concerns about proliferation to Syria, and an alleged uranium-enrichment program.

The problem with the whole situation is that no one knows how much North Korea is gaining in revealing their Syrian involvement.

Some international think tanks believes it can be set up to create a stage for US military adventure into Syria and Iran badly needed for Republican Presidential nominee John McCain to win the general election.

However, it can backfire the Republican Administration. Joseph Biden, the Democratic chairman on the Senate foreign relations committee, said that unless the US could confirm that North Korea was “no longer in the nuclear proliferation business, the US should not lift sanctions on the North”. Christopher Hill, the US negotiator with North Korea, was wary that the release of the information would ruin his negotiations with Pyongyang.
