Like Bush issued ultimatum to Saddam, Maoists in Nepal ask the King of Nepal to leave the palace or else
Kiran Chaube
Apr. 24, 2008
The newly elected Maoist leader Parchanda said if the King does not leave the royal palace on his own then the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly, to be held within one month, will abolish monarchy.
The posture and threat is similar to that George Bush before America invaded Iraq. Parchanda wants the King to leave the palace and eventually exile out of Nepal forever.
The sources from the Royal palace tells a different story. The King does not believe that any one in Nepal has any right to overthrow the King or ask the King to leave the palace.
Nepal Military is loyal to the king. The mother of all civil war may actually start now. Parchanda is privately saying if America as a foreign power can overthrow an elected President of Iraq, why cannot the Maoist overthrow the King and his disciples from the palace and eventually from the country?
