Underemployment in US economy changing to unemployment – a sign of deflation and depression
Peter Oberois
Mar. 9, 2008

The steady rise in unemployment and at the same time intensified underemployment is a bad sign for US economy and the rest of the world.

Even as growth is slowing, inflation remains a concern for Fed policy makers as crude oil prices continue to rise, reaching an intraday record of $106.54 a barrel last week.

Prices for common people are rising fast and at the same time wages are stagnated. This is called classical underemployment and is often the symptom of problem in a third world country. Now people with low wage jobs are losing their bobs. The employers are not being able to afford the ‘burger flipping’ jobs even.

These are early signs of deflation and depression.
