According to CPI (M) politburo member Sitaram Yechury, CPI(M)’s agenda is the nuclear deal and not the stability of the government or an early or late election. They are opposed to the deal because they think it is not in the interest of the country.
External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said survival of the government was more important than the deal and ruled out early elections.
There is a written agreement in the UPA-Left committee that it will not sign any agreement with IAEA and come back to the committee. Will Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi abide by that agreement?
Rumors are floating in India that Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi will make billions of dollars from kick backs and bribes when India hands over $100 billion to US corporations like GE and Westinghouse for reactors and reactor components.
