People in the main streets in India question, how much will Manmohan Singh and his associates get out of the $100 billion India-US nuke deal?
Kiran Chaube
Mar. 6, 2008

Why is the Congress party so eager to finalize the India-US nuclear deal so fast? We know India will provide close to $100 billion to Westinghouse, GE and other companies to buy their reactors. How much is being transferred to Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and other Congress party politicians? We know they made it big in Bofors, how much are they making this time?

"The deal will have to happen in the interest of the nation", party's Media Department chairman M Veerappa Moily told reporters.

Really? The question is floating in the minds of common Indians. We know large corporations and special interest fueled the Bush election win in the last eight years. We also know Bush administration is putting pressure on the Indians to sign the deal. $100 billion is quite a bit of money!

"I don''t think it as an ultimatum or Government is under threat", Moily said, adding the key outside supporters had never been "unreasonable" and "till today everyone is on board and nothing has been obstructed and deal is on course."

There are rumors Congress party and its senior members may get as much as 5 Billion dollars out of it.

There are rumors it is Sonia Gandhi that are looking to sell Indian national interest and make some money like in Bofors deal.
