Prime Minister assured the Parliament the government would not compromise on requirements of national security in inking the nuclear deal with the US. He Has praise for the former National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra "coming out openly in defense of the Nuclear Cooperation Agreement".

Sources close to Vajpayee says – ‘no not so fast.’ The BJP says before handing over the $100 Billion to US Corporations, India must ensure its nuclear freedom. In addition, India’s future lies in Thorium based reactors. That is where focus should be. It is easy to become a satellite nation. India should lead the world – not become a slave of a superpower.
