The bank of America now severely regrets the accumulation of Countrywide's Baggage.
A federal watchdog has asked courts to penalize Countrywide for alleged abuses of the bankruptcy system. David Sambol, Countrywide's president and chief operating officer, will head of the two banks'' combined home-mortgage business. That is running well with lawmakers.
