Will PPP form Government with PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s backing or will Zardari follow American secret order to embrace Musharraf?
Preeti Singhani
Feb. 21, 2008

In the street corners of Pakisni cities, the rumor is rampant that secretly Americans are pressuring defacto PPP chief Zardar to join hands with Musharraf so that the ‘war on terror’ can continue.

Pakistan People's Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif met to discuss formation of a coalition Government after their parties emerged as the two largest groups in the country's general election.

Hours before the much talked about meeting at Zardari House in the heart of Islamabad, Sharif stepped up the pressure on Zardari to accede to the PML-N's demand for the reinstatement of deposed judges, joining hundreds of protesting lawyers and vowing to restore deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to the Supreme Court.

Musharraf has initiated corruption case against Zardari. Zardari is a business man. He loves money and power. What will he choose? Will he succumb to American pressure on joining hands with Musharraf? That way his billions stashed in Swiss Bank stays intact. Mushrraf stays in power and he is the new ‘hero’ in Pakistani politics. The democracy of Pakistan is proved to be farce again. The human rights and common people’s desire is dumped in the bin again.
