Nepal’s Maoists to start agitation and violence on April 2, King Gyanendra may bring democracy back to Nepal before that
Staff Reporter
Mar. 14, 2005

King Gyanendra of Nepal is rethinking his democracy bashing policies. He has soon understood that dealing with the Maoists is not easy.

Nepal's Maoist rebel leader Prachanda called on rebels on March 13th to hold a countrywide protest against King Gyanendra's seizure of power in the country. The 11-day strike, due to start April 2, will include transport blockades and possible attacks against security forces.

The Nepali Government, military and the Royal establishments have decided to ask for external help and slowly restore democracy back in the country. There are no other choice says some Nepali military officials.

According to sources, India is ready to help Nepal provided Nepal restores people’s rights in the kingdom.
