Sindhis in India may finally have a say after Advani becomes Prime Minister
Kartik Punaskar
Jan. 27, 2008

It was an injustice that the world overlooked. In 1947, the British decided to put the whole of Sindh in Pakistan. Non-muslim Sindhis had no choice to leave Pakistan and come to India. Neither Indian poltical leaders nor the international think tanks cared for the Sindhi community. Sindhis have traditionally served with vigor in Indian Army, Air Force and Navy. Many of them have left India in desperation. The untold stories of Karachi still haunts Indian politics.

Well to do families had to leave everything and rush out of Pakistan in 1947 on days notice. Finally in recent days Karachi recognized what they had done to the non-muslim Sindhis those days. Pakistan’s former PM Benazir Bhutto, a Muslim Sindhi finally extended her hands to Indian BJP leader Advani a few years back. She came and met Advani in his home in New Delhi. It was Singhi to Singhi talk that could have finally bridged the two nation into joint prosperity.

Bhutto is no longer there. But L.K. Advani is the new PM candidate of BJP. Advani, NDA''S Prime Ministerial candidate is in full control and ready to take India into a journey of nationalism and integrity. Sindhis finally may have a say in India.
