What happens after military coup terrorists take control of Pakistani nukes? Who gets affected worst?

There is a fairly reasonable possibility that the terror operators in Pakistan will try to snatch the control of Pakistani nukes in the next several years. The goal of these terrorists is to operate from within rather than from outside. Pakistan keeps asserting that its nuclear arsenal is safe. As a matter of fact, Pakistan claims that its security system is fail-safe despite the rising militancy in the country.

Some 15,000 soldiers and operational experts are deployed to secure the nuclear facilities as part of a command and control system headed by President Pervez Musharraf and other top officials, says Khalid Kidwai, head of the Strategic Plans Division that handles Pakistan's nuclear arsenal.

"There's no conceivable scenario, political or violent, in which Pakistan will fall to extremists of the al-Qaida or Taliban type," the retired general said at a briefing for foreign journalists. "Pakistan's nuclear weapons, fissile material and infrastructure are absolutely safe and secure."

But Pakistan and its allies may be day dreaming and in a state of self denial. The terrorists have infiltrated the Pakistani Army, Navy and Air Force. They also have their people well positioned within the nuclear safeguard group within Pakistan – the command and control structure headed by President Pervez Musharraf.

The terrorists will not attack the facilities overtly. They are waiting for a coup within the Pakistani military. After the coup different generals within the military infrastructure will claim their control from different parts of the country. That is the time when the terror sleeping cells will show and quickly take control of the facilities. It is the state of confusion that the terror operators like to use.

Once they take control of the nukes and the facilities, they can blackmail the world. Who can be worst affected by such an event?

It will Israel and India. America will be somewhat safe and this is why? Al_Queda and other terrorists groups are fanatics but they are headed by shrewd mind. If they can get hold of the nukes, there will be stand off. They will try and negotiate with the civilized free world. They will not future these nukes at US or other countries because they are terrorists – they want to kill innocent people with surprise.

The western world will try and contain the situation with a calculated means of ‘carrot and sticks’ policy. It may even seem that the nukes are safe because they cannot be used anyway especially with satellites and signal intelligence watching and counter measures ready to take them out.

But the terrorists will try and smuggle the small nukes or dirty bombs and spread the same through out the world. Before anyone can realize, there will small nukes ready in the hands of terror sleeping cells in India, Israel, US and even Russia.

At that point the world will be really helpless. There will not be normal terror explosions any more. The suicide bombers are then nuke tipped.

It is essential to bring Pakistani nukes under the control of United Nations. The Pakistani military must be replaced with international security infrastructure.
