The silent revolution in US behind the surge of Obama and Edwards – finally it comes after forty years – the silent cyber Tiananmen Square of USA
Sandra Simons
Jan. 5, 2008

The upset landslide victory of Obama and Edwards has signaled something what every country experiences when one political party goes into severe extremes. It was missing in United States for forty years. The youth revolution is here in America ready to topple the establishment and the legacy of power as well money.

When happened in Ohio actually started in the last election when Democrats took over both the legislative branches of the Government.

The youth of America has finally decided to revolt and disobey the establishment. This happens in every country. It happened in Tiananmen Square.of China. It happened during Bolshevik revolution in Russia. It happened during French Revolution. It happened in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Americas.

What was strange is the fact the youth revolution took forty years since the sixties to happen again. The extreme social conservatism and fiscal adventurism engulfed America from the time of former US President Ronald Reagan. America in the last thirty years has drifted from center to the far right under the leadership of Regan, Bush and Clinton.

The rise of Obama as a political alternative to establishment-supported candidates is interesting. America is experience ‘cyber revolution’ without a single drop of blood. The peaceful revolution shows the maturity of American democracy. The bigger question is how will the ‘establishment’ subdue this revolution?

In China the Tiananmen square revolution was subdued by the Chinese military. In US it mat be censuring the cyber media, voting district manipulation and silent rigging of lection like we saw in Year 2000 Florida US presidential election. The biggest tool the establishment has in their arsenal in the Supreme Court judges. The judicial branch after all can control the country and the election process. The establishment is already looking at the billionaire turned politician NY City Mayor Bloomberg o run and derail Obama from winning the White House if Clinton is defeated in Democratic Primary.

The youth revolution may be more than what the establishment can handle. The age war is here in the US. The baby boomers are in the fifties. They are called as ‘spoilers of US economy’ by the youth who have been ripped off their basic fundamental rights with ballooning budget deficit, Iraq war expenses, almost bankrupt Medicare, Social Security, enormous private and public debt, insane trade deficits, export of well paying US jobs to low wage countries, catastrophic illegal immigration and above all a sub par image of United States in the world.

The youth revolution in America will intensify although chances of any violent revolution are very less. That is because America is a free nation. The million dollar question is – given the fight is against the establishment, how long will America remain free and democratic?
