Cyber space getting packed with eAl-Queda – time for action to stop terror at the root?

Dec. 5, 2007
A Saudi researcher told a national security conference that there are now about 5,600 Web sites spreading Al Qaeda's ideology worldwide, and 900 more are appearing each year.
The new term in the web is eAl-Queda. "Research shows there are more than 5,600 sites on the Internet promoting the ideology of Al Qaeda," Khaled al-Faram told the Information Technology and National Security conference in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
"There are some 900 news sites appearing every year, and despite the retreat of some media outlets specifically run by al Qaeda, extremist Web sites are constantly on the rise."
International coordinated action is needed to stop terror campaign on the Web. What can be done? The first step is to look at what is causing this exponential rise in eAl-Queda sites?
Most of these sites are targeted against the Saudi Royal Family, Egyptian dictatorship, and recently the focus is Pakistani dictator Musharraf. The world must come together to get rid of these dictatorships. That will take the ‘fuel’ away from these eAl-Queda cyber initiatives. There is a need for a counter campaign against terror.
