Nepal releases former Prime Minister and other political leaders – India to provide support to defeat the Maoists

India and Nepal is again on track to defeat the Maoists. India influenced Nepal to get the political leaders released. Sacked Nepali Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and 18 other detainees were released, according to Nepali Congress Democratic Party secretary Jivan Prem Shrestha. Party officials said other political prisoners will be gradually released. Nepali King Gyanendra dismissed Deuba's government and imposed emergency rule in Nepal on Feb. 1.

The King of Nepal has agreed in principal to restore democracy slowly but surely. In exchange India has promised to help the Kingdom necessary help to maintain law and order as well as defeating the Maoists.
