Apartheid or legitimate rights of UK citizens – ‘British jobs for British workers’ slogan
Harish Baliga
Nov. 7, 2007

The controversy is here. Prime Minister Gordon Brown's five-month-old government has come under fire from the Labour Party's Goan-origin MP, Keith Vaz, for creating an "employment apartheid" with its new "British jobs for British workers" slogan.

But international think tanks believe what is being watched in UK is not apartheid. It is legitimate rights of any nation to control the jobs and livelihoods of its citizens and outflow of jobs to low wage countries that manipulate currencies to steal jobs from UK, US and other parts of Europe.

The best way to approach this is to bring an end to the currency manipulation by Asian countries including China. But that is something that China and others are resisting.
