China retaliates Dalai Lama recognition by hijacking US Internet search sites like Google and directing traffic to Chinese-owned Baidu
Tarin Maliba
Oct. 20, 2007

This was pathetic way to retaliate against the free world and Internet traffic. International think tanks believe that the redirecting traffic from Google and other US Internet Search sites towards Baidu was intentional and a retaliatory measure from China and Chinese secret military cyber agents.

Google has already confirmed the blocking of its Chinese search engine. Microsoft says it was looking into the matter. Yahoo is also losing traffic to Baidu.

China is also tightly controlling the Internet and using a variety of filters to screen out search results for issues relating to dissidents or the 72-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader.

According to some thinks tanks, Chinese secret cyber operations are well spread all over the world with head quarters in Sanghai.

Baidu is well known for stealing traffic but this time it seems a grand effort coordinated by the Chinese cyber agents.
