Australia is planning to refuse India Uranium unless Indian signs the nuke deal with America. Opposition Labor party in Australia is adamant to any sell of Uranium to India unless India is also a signatory to the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

But India is working its partners to avoid Aussie Uranium. India is also planning to use Thorium based reprocessing to avoid Australian controversial Uranium.

According to media reports, Australia is selling Uranium to China without much question. When it comes to the case of India, it is raising all the concerns.

Some of the Indian nuclear scientists have told the Indian Government that India will not need Australian Uranium in the long run. However, under the discriminatory Australian position on India, India is not obliged to allow Aussie companies to operate freely in India.
