The tiny galaxy seems to be perfect for a Type II civilization that can take scattered material from all over the universe and build its own little ‘galactic township’. NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and the W.M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii found this tiny galaxy six billion light years through gravity lensing.

According to Michael Schirber of Space,com, ‘one way to understand gravitational lensing is to picture space as a flexible rubber sheet. The sheet is deformed, or curved, when something heavy, like a bowling ball, is placed on it. If something passes near by - like a rolling marble - the trajectory is deflected, or bent. This deflection works on light as well. If we look towards a massive object, the light coming from behind may be focused or spread out. In this way, galaxies, which weigh billions of times our Sun, distort the background universe’.

Dec. 20 issue of Astrophysical Journal will talk about the new tiny galaxy. However, sources say the galactic analysis and numerical modeling point to the existence of extraterrestrial civilization that has molded the galaxy to suit their needs.
