Oct. 6, 2007

The rumor is rampant. It is true that Shoaib Akhtar has applied to Pakistan Cricket board permission to play in BCCI's Indian Premier League (IPL) next year. But sources in Pakistan say he may not get the permission.

Pakistan board is concerned about India’s ace batsmen getting exposed to Shoaib Akhtar raw pace. That can affect the Pakistani teams’ performance as Shoaib Akhtar’s piercing attack can render useless against India.

Media in India reports that Shoaib Akhtar is eager to play in India. But most likely the Pakistan board will not let him play in India.
