The Myanmar Military rounded up at least 5000 people in the dark hours. They are knocking every house they can find. They are matching the photographs of the peaceful resistance. Any one who looks like the one in the photograph is beaten badly – whether man or woman does not make any difference.
The Military Junta is worse than Saddam. The Junta must be punished with forces that will make anyone committing such atrocities in future think twice.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said he would meet with the Security Council on Friday to discuss possible actions for addressing human rights abuses in Myanmar.
It may be too late. At least 5000 people can be dead or badly injured by them. The Junta that has unleashed the Military must be brought to justice.
In Yangon the rumor is that the Junta will kill all the opposition and before UN troops come, they will escape to China.
People of Myanmar need help. The help must come from truyely democratic nations like India, US and others.
The Chinese leaders should ashamed of their silence. It is also shameful for Japan to keep quiet.
