Foreign Intuitional Investors pumping close to $6 billion per month and that is pushing rupee higher and higher against US dollar
Peter Mayo
Oct. 3, 2007

This can be devastating for the Indian outsourcing sector. Indian rupee is set to appreciate close to 0.5% per month for the next three years. The reason is simple. Foreign Intuitional Investors (FII) are pumping close to $6 billion per month and that is pushing rupee higher and higher against US dollar. Since September 19th, the FIIs have pumped in close to 4.8 billion dollars. The lower rate in the US is actually fueling this transfer of funds.

The rupee registered 39.57/58 against the US dollar on strong capital inflows.
