Chinese communists say ''we will not use our party-to-party relations with the CPI or CPI (M) to oppose India-US nuclear agreement'' - the question is ''really?''

Sep. 30, 2007

China finally confessed it is in party-to party consultation with Indian communists to halt the India-US nuclear agreement. Openly they say it is Indian's internal matter but secretly they influence their disciple CPI (M) party of India.

China's ruling Communist Party has said it has nothing to do with the Left parties'' opposition to the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal and that it was an internal matter of India.

"No not at all. The Indo-US civilian nuclear deal is an internal affair of India and we will not use our party-to-party relations with the CPI or CPI (M) to oppose that," a senior leader of Communist Party of China (CPC) Ai Ping told media.

He was asked about the perception in some quarters in India that the Left's opposition to the civil nuclear agreement was influenced by CPC.

But a lingering question lies - why did CPI (M) not oppose the deal till all negotiations were complete. It is well known that their Chinese counterpart controls the Indian communists. Can any one believe that the Chinese does not influence the Indian communists?
