The research is on. The theory is clear. Implementation schedules are on track. The gravity wave is the answer.

The first generation time machines may arrive in our terrestrial world by end of 2025. According to Einstein's theory of gravity, an accelerating mass causes the fabric of space-time to ripple in somewhat the same way a skipping rock disturbs the surface of a pond. Next generation Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave manipulators are on the design table. It is the first step towards a real time machine.

At the same time virtual particles and exotic particles like tachyons are getting harnessed to exceed the speed of light to create substantial ripple effect in the space-time conduit.

The research started with facilities in Washington and Louisiana, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO), looking for these ripples--so-called gravity waves--but it can only detect a narrow range of frequencies. A new gravity wave detector made of a pair of spheres; one inside the other was the next stage. The design is sensitive to a wider range of gravitational wave frequencies.

Scientists all around the world are targeting the gravity waves to create the ripple effect in space-time mesh. An interesting outcome of these R&D efforts is the realization of higher dimensions.
