A spectacular rally in equities is in progress – the final blow off before the long term bear market starts
Peter Oberois
Jul. 14, 2007

The stock market is in the middle of a spectacular rally. The rally is coming from the take over mania and stock buy back by the large corporations. The lack of pricing power as well as new business in a stagnating economy has made large companies with sizeable cash in hand (a spill over legacy from the dot com era) to acquire companies to expand their profit base and revenues.
The fundamentals have worsened though. This in turn has created a stampede in buying stocks with little reasons to believe.
A spectacular rally in equities is in progress. This is the final blow off before the long term bear market starts. Every long-term bear market starts after a fabulous bubble bursts and a fantastic rally draws all the sitting bulls in. The elevator comes down fully loaded. This one will be no different.
