What Assie police found in Haneef's residence?
Sonia Joshi
Jul. 8, 2007

The anti-terror squad in Australia is searching every corner of all activities of Haneef. They have found little to indict the doctor of Indian origin. However a suspicious large sum of money sent abroad from Asutralia is under severe scrutiny.

According to Nine channels, part of the police investigation was focused on Haneef's financial transactions and whether large sums of money were sent overseas which may have been used to fund terrorist activities.

Federal and Queensland police are currently tracking overseas and local transactions from the bank accounts of the doctor from Bangalore.

Each overseas transaction is believed to be below US$10,000 that would avoid any scrutiny from AUSTRAC - a government regulator. If the funds can be directly linked to terrorist activity, UK authorities could extradite Haneef.

There is a good possibility that Haneef will be released this week if no more evidences are found.
