That is what some large investors and hedge fund managers are accusing. It may not be Bear Stearn’s problem. They just provided the liquidity and the subprime market stabilized. According to analysts, it is the problem of the hedge fund managers that tried to take advantage of shaky mortgage market and in turn got wiped out. Selling the weakness is a risky game!
