Bengal rises against the butcher Buddha of Bengal - More violence at Tata Motors'' plant site in Singur
Riaz Hussain
May 20, 2007

Bengal revolts against the butcher of Bengal - the new would be Saddam Hussein in India.  Believe it or not his name is Buddha! Violence erupted at the Tata Motors'' small car project here today when activists of a Trinamool Congress-backed group opposed to acquisition of land for industry hurled bombs and brickbats in a bid to enter the site.  West Bengal was under the direction of the communist butcher of Bengal - the Buddha the great used rubber bullets and teargas indiscriminately to disperse common people.

Trinamool Congress General Secretary and Leader of Opposition Partha Chatterjee said in Kolkata that several activists of the Committee were injured, including four serious cases, in the police action.

"The police attack is condemnable. It speaks volumes of the Left Front Government's attitude towards democratic movements," he said before leaving for Singur on the instructions of party chief Mamata Banerjee.

Chatterjee said a list of farmers who had not voluntarily handed over 436 acres in Singur and their affidavits had been submitted to court, the state government and Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi. He questioned the government's moral right to acquire land from small farmers.
