Vertical IT markets – the new trend in outsourcing
The new hot trend in outsourcing is vertical IT markets. The vertical IT market specialization like IT for Aerospace, IT for Banking, IT for Food Industries etc. will be a huge boom in coming years. For that the IT companies of India are joining hand with functional partners.
Indian software giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said on Saturday it had signed a pact with state-owned National Aerospace Laboratories to bid jointly for national and international aerospace programs. They will jointly offer "solutions and services" in the aerospace domain including design, testing, manufacturing and use of advanced computer-aided techniques, said senior TCS official Reghu Ayyaswamy.
This is a clear example of building a vertical IT outsourcing infrastructure in Aerospace and Space Exploration.
They also announced the launch of the Flosolver Mk6 computing machine that is capable of a range of aerospace applications. "There is a tremendous potential in services and solutions for the global aerospace industry," Ayyaswamy told reporters. "Both firms are confident of making a significant impact in the international partnership through this partnership." Tata Consultancy employs about 250 aerospace engineers while the National Aerospace Laboratories has 1,400 scientists working at its laboratory in Bangalore, India's technology and aviation hub.
Many more Indian IT companies will try to specialize in vertical markets in the coming months.
