Turkey alleges that Kurds stole Iraq’s Kirkuk election - start of Turkey – Kurd conflict for independent Kurdistan?
Staff Reporter
Feb. 14, 2005

Shiites and Kurds came out strong in first and second position in Iraq elections. But the real action in the North Kurd area. Finally the election results today have given the hope of millions of Kurds in forming the dream of many generations of Kurds – an independent Kurdistan extending from Turkey to Iraq to Iran.

The Turkish initial remarks on the outcome of Iraqi election manifests the actual state of the matter. The results of the Iraqi elections announced Feb. 13 are skewed, Turkish officials said. In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry urged Iraqi officials and the United Nations to look into the results from Kirkuk, saying that Iraqi Kurds moved to the city illegally in order to slant the election in favor of the Kurdish candidates.

The determination for independent Kurdistan and a strong foot hold in Iraq will provide the necessary impetus for the Kurds to wage the independence war against Turkey. Turkey warned the about the upcoming violent outcome of this matter.

America also has made it clear that any conflict with Turkey is not welcome and unity of is utmost importance.
