Maoists ready to make Jharkhand another Nepal
Babu Ghanta
Feb. 8, 2005

There are evidences that Maoists are being funded by the ‘Foreign Governments’ and they are ready to create havoc all over India starting from Jharkhand.

The police and Maoist ultras exchanged fire at Sirsa village in the district, police said on Sunday.

The encounter took place on Saturday night when the patrolling police party came across the ultras, who had gone to the village to extort a contractor engaged in the construction of a dam.

There was no report of any casualty in any of the sides, the police said. In a separate incident in the district the same night, suspected ultras set ablaze the campaigning vehicle of independent candidate John Aind, who is contesting the assembly elections from Gumla.
