The Trinamul Congress opposing the oligarch Tata and its partner the communists have challenged the industrialist to come out with a name of their competitor who they are saying is fueling protests in Singur!

Adding a new twist to the controversy, Tata Sons chairman Ratan Tata has said he had "clear evidence" of a rival automobile maker's hand in the protests against his group's small car project in West Bengal.

"We have quite clear evidence of what we were saying and at an appropriate time we will present them," Ratan Tata said here on Monday night. Maruti Udyog's MD and CEO Jagdish Khattar had earlier challenged Tata to name the competitor he had referred to in a TV interview recently.

"This is true. We have quite clear evidence about it and we will make it public in due time," Tata said during his visit here when pointed out that Khattar had dared him to name the competitor.
