What Michael Dell must do to revive Dell?
Special Correspondent
Feb. 1, 2007

Small business are upset with Dell. When Dell started hiring call centers in India to call for past due that never existed logically, small businesses in America started getting upset. These callers keep calling and harassing from India and waste phone time.

Dell was mismanaged in the last few years. A typical small business would buy a Laptop or Server. The Dell Financial is like a stonewall. They do not recognize the problems in transaction. They kept sending bills with accrued interests. After a while, they will make Indian telemarketing type callers (in call centers night shifts in India) call the business entities for payment. These Indian callers have little knowledge of what really happened. They just call and waste time, day in and day out. When businesses say they do not receive their rebate check, the Indian caller will keep quiet and keep saying "payment is due".

Michael Dell did the right thing. He took over the management of the company. He must make Dell listen to customers again. He must not use Indian outsourcing help because that is what killed Dell’s charm. Now small businesses are skeptical about Dell and Dell Financial.

Michael Dell can do it again. All small businesses expect is respect of time and appropriate communication. In the last few years, Dell did not communicate well with business entities. The market now is competitive. Before, Dell used to sell for brand name. Today, Dell sells for instant discount. No one wants rebate anymore, they want discount right now! Dell is issuing 20% of discounts. Businesses are using it.

It is time for Michael Dell to stand tall and show Dell is the best company after all!
