The developers are finally panicked. They are throwing land holdings and options in a slumping market.

Smart investors are catching these deals right and left. The low farm lands that these developers use to build new homes are cheap again. Many are buying these cheap land and farms to sell it back to developers at the end of 2007 when housing market recovers.

The lower real estate taxes on farm land is a big reason to buy farmland. The real estate tax is expected to balloon in the next several years. Farmlands are assessed for very low tax. That can be another reason to buy the land that can be used to farm. Woodlands are no exception either.
