A last chance to buy US Dollar index as Euro and Gold rise based on hope of accelerated European Manufacturing Growth – German consumer strike of 2007
Fred Day
Jan. 1, 2007

The Dollar index is sliding as the 2007 starts. The hope in the currency exchange dealers is that the accelerated European Manufacturing Growth in December is just not a hope but reality. Analysts and international think tanks believe, the December will data will actually show very fast pace in Euro Zone economic growth driven by German consumer demand.
However, the reason for such demand is the 3% (three time normal) hike in Value Added tax in Germany starting in January 2007. The German consumers went crazy. They bought all heavy duty items like washing machines, refrigerators and so on in December. But January through June 2007 is a different story. The German consumer goes on strike during this time. There is no one left to buy anything. The Euro Zone economies will sharply head down during this time led by Germany.
It may be the last chance to buy US Dollar index as Euro and Gold rise based on hope of accelerated European Manufacturing Growth in December 2006 and German consumer get ready to strike in 2007.
