United Nation Intervention needed to get Bangladesh a fair election
Media Release
Dec. 14, 2006
The Military, the Government and the infrastructure is so corrupted that people have been denied fair election for decades. The fiasco started when Zia –ul-Hawk, military commander took power after Nation’s Father Mujibur Rahman was killed point blank by the Army coup.
The Awami League, headed by former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina (daughter ofr Mujibur Rahman), said Dec. 14 it will hold a large rally in downtown Dhaka on Dec. 18 to clarify its stance on the forthcoming general elections. Other parties joining the rally include the Liberal Democratic Party, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal and the National Awami Party.
It is time for fairness. It is time United Nation intervenes and holds a fair election.
