Early signs of depression and stock market collapse - a surge in mortgage delinquencies in the past few months

A surge in mortgage delinquencies in the past few months is scary. The mortgage bankers are quiet about it to make sure panic does not strike. But this is exactly what happened in 1929. Interest only loans were all on a sudden common norms during 1926 to 1929. Like hedge funds today, the stock market was not regulated. The banking system like today depended more on its own whims than fundamental values.

The surge in mortgage delinquencies the subprime-mortgage segment show how bad mortgage banking became during the last three years,

As the economy tanks, the stock market will collapse with it.
