India's former foreign minister says adopted pro-US stance - a wrong direction
Media Release
Oct. 29, 2006

Former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh attacked the UPA government, saying it had adopted a pro-America stance that was guiding foreign policy in the wrong direction.

Addressing a public meeting in Tuhia village near Bharatpur, Natwar Singh alleged the central government was conspiring against his son Jagat and him even though the Pathak Inquiry Authority's report on Iraq's Oil-for-Food scam had not clarified much about their alleged involvement in the matter.

Referring to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, he said she become suspicious about him because she was under the influence of some people in the party. "I am waiting for the day when I will give a correct reply to her. I will organise a ''kisan rally'' in Delhi soon," said Singh, who was suspended from the Congress last month.

"During the rally I will also solve some mysteries," he said without giving details.
