Bin Laden in North Korea?
Anil Rane
Oct. 21, 2006

Some international think tanks believe Bin Laden is visiting North Korea. The Afghan-Pakistan border is somewhere he cannot feel secured any more. Bangladesh Chitagong Hill is too close to Indian signal intelligence and influence. He may have taken permanent refuge in North Korea.

Interestingly, North Koreans after the nuke test is now providing mixed signals. They are upset with America and its allies. What can they do to make sure they have the bomb? China is also giving mixed signals.

The think tanks are biggest question why is Bin Laden visiting North Korea? How did he get there?

North Korea may use Bin Laden as their last card to keep their nukes. If China does not support, it will be difficult to keep their nukes. But can they keep it with Bin laden?

How can North Koreans keep their technology? The logical best path answer is that they will keep a collateral copy with America’s biggest enemy. They may even threaten privately that the nukes and dirty bombs will be given to AlQueda if they are attacked or somehow they lose their technology.

North Koreans believe they have achieved something that will keep them safe from Americans. But what if somehow they are forced to give it up? Think tanks analyze what North Koreans will do to preserve their nukes in a guaranteed safe box.
