Across the board the enrollment is lower. Employees and employers agree on one thing. What is the real value in the colleges and universities. Is it really worth 30 to 100K? Are these professors really delivering anything that can command that kind of price tags?
After all people learn on the jobs. The general education part can be achieved in high scools and specialization part - is it really worth that high a tag?
People are realizing how little they learn in Universities and colleges these days because the industry is running 100 time faster than academics.
Cut throat compition require agile and sharp work force no necessarily tthose with big gedrees behind their back.
Corinthian Colleges Inc., which operates 140 for-profit colleges in the U.S. and Canada came out with a scenario that will fetch them much lower profit than the analysts were expecting. The shares fell close to 11% and may fall further.
